Chapel Players is our pantomime group at Chellaston Methodist Church. Each year we perform a pantomime to the community of Chellaston.

We are a small amateur group who perform a fun, family friendly show to the general public in the school room at Chellaston Methodist Church. All our shows take place during February Half Term.

2016 was Chapel Players 30th production at Chellaston Methodist Church. See some of our most recent productions below:-


2020:- After Ever After- The tale of what happens after a happily ever after? Want to find out more, then why not book tickets and come along to our 2020 production?

2019:- The Queen of Hearts- A fantastic tale for all the family! Join us for our original story about 4 kingdoms, the Hearts, Diamonds, Spades and Clubs! The King of Clubs is looking to destroy the lives of his sisters! Can our heroes help to save the day?

2018:- Puss in Boots- Join us for a tale about about a special feline friend who has the ability to talk! Can Puss in Boots save the day! Join us for a fun filled family story to find out!

2017:- Jack and the BeanstalkJack and his mum Dame Trott are struggling to pay the rent, whilst a terrible giant looks down over the land. Can Jack save the day and defeat the Giant? 

2016 :- Babes in the Wood– An exciting story about Robin Hood, Maid Marion and the Sheriff of Nottingham set in the heart of Sherwood Forest

2015:- Dick Whittington– Dick Whittington and his cat look to make their fortune in London whilst trying to defy King Rat and his army of rats.

2014:- Old Mother Hubbard– Old Mother Hubbard has no money and is struggling to keep her family in the boot. Can Jack and Jill find love and help save the day?

2013:- Cinderella– Cinderella and Buttons have to put up with her Stepmother and Evil Stepsisters, whilst her fairy godmother helps to send her to the ball and find her Prince.

2012:- Hansel and Gretel Both children are taken to the woods and left by their parents. They fall into the hands of the evil old woman and must try and escape.

Chapel Players 2020 Pantomime- After Ever After

The curtains are about to open again as Chapel Players prepare for their 2020 production of After Ever After!
A tale of what happens after a happily ever after? Most people think that the story ends after evil is defeated, the marriage and the happily ever after… wrong! The story continues with this light hearted, fun, original production written by Kate Smart and directed by Louise Humphries.

Come along and join us for our 34th year! Performed from Wednesday 19th-Saturday 22nd February 2020!

Chapel Players 2019 Pantomime- The Queen of Hearts

The time has arrived to say goodbye to our 2019 production of ‘The Queen of Hearts’!

Once again we have had another brilliant year performing 5 shows across 4 days infront of 5 fabulous audiences! The cast and crew are extremely proud of our production and thank everyone that has come along to support our production this year!
We are so happy to announce that we have raised over £1850 for Chellaston Methodist Church which will go towards our ongoing fundraising efforts!

We hope to see you all next year for another brilliant production. Keep a look out for exciting details later in 2019!

Chapel Players 2018 Pantomime- Puss in Boots

The curtain drops the lights go out until another year…

Chapel Players have brought to an end their 2018 pantomime on Saturday 24th February following a successful 4 days featuring 5 performances in front of full audiences!

The show brought many laughs, cheer and much more as we followed Midnight the talking cat a.k.a. Puss in Boots following an accidental spell by a naughty pixie called Puck. Midnight helped to save the day and bring together his master Peter Miller and the Princess of Wyevale together after defeating the evil Lord O’ger!

Chapel Players would like to thank everyone that has helped out, supported and come along to see the show! This year has once again been extremely successful and has raised nearly £2000 for the church which will go towards our yearly ongoing improvements!

Chapel Players could not do the work we do without your kind support and we cannot wait to return in 2019 with another brilliantly funny family pantomime!
